Jere Osgood

Jere Osgood's early interest and studies were in architecture, although he formally studied furniture design at the School for American Craftsmen. In 1962, Osgood began his teaching career and in 1975 established the Woodworking Department at the prestigious Program in Artisanry of Boston University. Osgood's wooden furniture pieces reveal his love of natural materials, clean design and architectural stability. Osgood is remembered for his bent lamination process, which has influenced an entire generation of woodworkers from Wendy Maruyama to James Schriber.
