Marilyn R. PappasUnited States, b. 1931
"Pappas has shown in most major national textile exhibitions, and is credited, along with Alma Lesch, with being among the first artists to combine 'found objects' with stitching in the creation of pictorial hangings. She claims that no single influence has dominated her work, but she has been subjected, enthusiastically, to such varied influences as San Blas Indian molas, Rauschenburg assemblages, Schwitters collages, and Matisse's use of space."
