Daniel Rhodes

"Daniel Rhodes is widely known not only as a potter and sculptor but also as a teacher and writer. His work in ceramics-functional objects and sculpture-has been exhibited in the major ceramic exhibitions in the U.S. and abroad, and since 1948, he has had numerous one-man shows, including one at the Museum of Contemporary Crafts in 1967. This latter exhibition introduced work done in a technique utilizing fiberglass in clay, a process developed by Rhodes in 1964 to extend the possibilities of clay as a sculptural medium.

In addition to his numerous articles, Daniel Rhodes' three books, Clay and Glazes for the Potter, Stoneware and Porcelain, and Kilns, are notable contributions to the literature on ceramics."
