Sandy Skoglund

Sandy Skoglund is a photographer, sculptor, stage designer, filmmaker, performance artist, and installation artist. She began her career as a painter and filmmaker. In the mid to late 1970s she turned to still photography and began experimenting with food still lifes and with the recurrent theme of orderly repetitiveness. In 1979, she constructed her first room installation. Over the years, her constructions have grown more elaborate, moving from found objects to objects created by Skoglund to people her dreamlike environments.
