Kathy Butterly

Kathy Butterly received her B.F.A. degree from Moore College of Art in 1986. In 1990, she received her M.F.A. from the University of California, Davis. At Davis, Butterly was a pupil of Robert Arneson, an influential ceramicist and leader in the revolutionary Northern California Funk movement. Butterly creates small and quirky ceramic sculptures that are technically demanding and at the same time full of wit. She lives and works in New York.
