Artist Info
Peter ChangEngland, 1944–2017

Peter Chang was trained in graphics, sculpture, and printmaking. Soon after graduation from Liverpool College of Art, he went to Paris to study, where his interest in Surrealism and Dada grew. Equally influenced by the bright colors and bold forms of Pop Art and his love of Chinese lacquer work, he combined all of these elements to create a fusion of East and West. Internationally recognized for his colorful and inventive forms, Chang began producing jewelry in 1984, working exclusively with plastic. In addition to his ongoing jewelry work, Chang has created furniture with elaborate, highly colored acrylic surfaces.
