Margret Craver

Margret Craver began her career in the arts in the 1920s, when she studied design at the University of Kansas and later became the assistant director at the Wichita Art Museum. There, she established the first craft department at the School of the Wichita Arts Association. In the 1950s and 1960s, Craver worked in her own studio and as a consulting metalsmith for several metalworking companies. In the 1970s, Craver devoted herself to the study and production of en résille enameling. In addition to her work in the studio, she worked tirelessly on behalf of burgeoning artists, eventually making it easier for artists to get training in modern metalsmithing.
