Henry Tadaki TakemotoUnited States, b. 1930
The abundant organic references that recur in the exuberant compositional vocabulary of Takemoto reflect both his Hawaiian background and his natural joie de vivre. As has been the case with so many of his generation, Takemoto acknowledges the overwhelming influence that Peter Voulkos has had on his development. Takemoto devotes most of his time at present to teaching. He has been inactive as a practicing ceramist in recent years, feeling that this is for him a period for absorption.
