Chunghi Choo is a Korean-born metal artist. In 1961, she traveled to the United States and attended the prestigious Cranbrook Academy of Art in Bloomfield Hills, Michigan. She studied metalsmithing, weaving and ceramics at Cranbrook, graduating with an M.F.A. degree in 1965. Since 1968, she has taught at the University of Iowa, where she is also the Head of the Jewelry and Metal Arts program. Choo works in a variety of materials, such as metal and fiber, however all her work reveals a strong sense of unity, simplicity and elegance.
