Bruno Martinazzi
Born in Turin in 1923, Martinazzi moved to Florence in 1953 to study embossing, chasing and enameling at the Scuola Statale d'Arte with additional studies at the Institute of Art in Rome. Subsequent to his first solo exhibition in Turin in 1955, Marinazzi has enjoyed an important position in international contemporary art and jewelry, and has exerted a major influence on Italian and international design. His highly sculptural work uses timeless symbolic jewelry materials, notably gold and stone, and reflects a humanist philosophy that celebrates the human body and the hand in particular.
