Howard Ben Tré was born in Brooklyn, NY in 1949. He is considered to be a pioneer in the use of cast glass to make his large-scale sculptural pieces. He has won many awards, including the National Endowment for the Arts Fellowship, and has been commissioned to create numerous public works, such as the public plaza in Minneapolis for the Target Corporation.

Education: B.S.A., Portland State University, 1978; M.F.A., Rhode Island School of Design, 1980
