Jamie BennettUnited States, b. 1948
Jamie Bennett began his career as a painter; he turned to jewelry-making because of his interest in sculpture. In addition to creating and showing jewelry, Bennett has exhibited his drawings for the jewelry, but also for enameled vessels, which points toward his interest in the domestic object. Bennett has also enjoyed a long teaching career, at Boston University in the early 1980s and at the State University of New York, New Paltz for over twenty years. He is a three-time recipient of the prestigious National Endowment for the Arts Fellowship.
