BiographyLaurel Roth was born in 1973 and raised in San Francisco, California. She worked for Marin Conservation Corps-, and from 1998-2004, she was a park ranger for Marin County Parks, just north of San Francisco. In 2004, she and frequent collaborator Andy Diaz Hope traveled to the town of Nashik in Maharashtra, India, where they lived for several months while building a wine tasting room for Sula Vineyards. As a self-taught artist, Roth had always sought an outlet for her creativity, but it was not until she bought a Dremel and started carving that she was able to find her voice and explore the artistic possibilities of various media. Laurel Roth has exhibited her work in Nashik, London, New York, Chicago, Miami, and San Francisco. She is a member of QuorumSF, a collective of San Francisco Bay Area artists, curators, writers, and art dealers dedicated to generating arts discourse and transforming that dialogue into action.
