BiographyAfter earning a degree from the Technical Institute of Land-Surveyors in Pesaro in 1951, Pomodoro began an informal education in sculpture while on military service in Florence. There, he spent many hours and days studying the local Florentine art and architecture. He later moved to Milan with his brother and collaborator, and worked as a sculptor and jeweler until his death in 2002. He gained international recognition with his series of silver works cast on cuttlebone, dedicated to the poet Ezra Pound.
