BiographyA native of Ohio, Nancy Crow trained as a ceramist and weaver at Ohio State University, and began working with fabric in the early 1970s. A self-taught quilter, she has contributed significantly to promoting quilting in the United States, particularly during its renaissance in the 1970s. In 1978, she originated Quilt National, a biennial, juried exhibition of contemporary quilts. Crow is an accomplished teacher and author, as well as an innovative quiltmaker whose improvisational techniques have influenced a generation of quilt artists. She was inducted into the Quilter's Hall of Fame in 1997.
