BiographyInternationally renowned sculptor Louise Bourgeois trained as a painter and engraver at several art schools in Paris before immigrating to the United States in 1938. She continued studying at the Art Students League in New York and quickly became a major figure in the art world, particularly among Surrealist artists. She is known for her use of a variety of materials, including bronze, stone, rubber, marble, and steel, through which she explores the sensitive themes of femininity and sexuality.
